BRIDGEWATER — Town Manager Michael Dutton reminds Bridgewater residents of targeted adjustments to the existing weekday Reduced Service Schedule for MBTA Commuter Rail trains.
These changes were made to provide earlier train options for passengers with essential travel needs, such as medical professionals. The changes took effect on Wednesday, March 25, and the complete Reduced Service Schedule, including these adjustments, is available at www.MBTA.com/coronavirus.
The weekday reduced schedule applies to all lines.
For the Middleborough/Lakeville line, the first train departs the Middleborough/Lakeville station at 5:50 a.m., arriving at the Bridgewater station (second stop) at 6 a.m. The train arrives at Boston’s JFK/UMass station at 6:39 a.m., and at Boston’s South Station at 6:46 a.m.
The scheduled times for the second train are exactly one hour after the times for the first train.

Commuter Rail Changes
The MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services, which operates the Commuter Rail, implemented Reduced Service Schedules based on guidance from public health officials as a measure to help protect passengers and Commuter Rail employees from the COVID-19 virus.
To support social distancing on-board trains, conductors will provide access to all coach cars, even with low ridership, during both peak service and off-peak service. Passengers are reminded to only board and detrain at doors attended by a conductor. Bicycles will be allowed on all Reduced Service Schedule trains. Coach cars continue to be disinfected every 24 hours, with many receiving an additional deep cleaning every 12 hours. Additional details can be found here.
Weekend schedules remain unchanged. Passengers are encouraged to plan their travel and check schedules online for any service updates.
